  1. When vaping with my ego t, if I click the button then hold it, the light turns from green to blue and I can vape with a blue light as opposed to the usual green light...

Is the blue light a different vape? What IS different with vaping with blue light? Usually when you hold down the vape button, it's green. Well by accident I found out about the blue light.

  2. some of the Ego type batteries have 3 levels of power output. By clicking the button in a sequence it raises the power level from low to med to hi.
Depending on what version/maker you have will determine the sequence of clicks
  3. So the blue light would be more watts/more vapor?
  4. most likely, or it means that the battery is getting low... how many clicks does it take to turn the battery off on your unit?
  5. I just had a duh moment... is your battery a twist battery?? ( voltage control on the bottom??)
  6. 5 clicks for on. I've tried holding the button with the battery off to see if that would cycle between watts but it doesn't; the light does nothing.
  7. No the one I'm speaking of isn't twist. Yes, screw on tank/coil and battery.
  8. As above really it's likley it changes the output of the battery but to what I don't know without looking up what your battery does
  9. hmm okay, turn on the battery, the lite will be some color ( green, blue, red, purple etc) if you press and hold the button it will lite up and stay that original color. If you click it 3 or 5 times again it will change colors ( if it goes to a higher power) and when you hold the button down it will stay lit that new color. If it turns off after clicking the 3-5 times, then the blue lite means that the battery is getting low and needs a recharge. There are about 17 different types of eGo batteries on the market and it seems each one has a different click sequence and power level(s)
  10. Well when the battery is on, clicking the button 3 times shows the blue light; first two presses are green and third is blue.

After that, holding the button is still green but now clicking the button once then holding it, it turns blue; first click green then next blue.

So click 3 times to activate blue and every time after until you shut the battery off, 2 clicks with the second click being blue. Phew hope that made sense...

So does this sound like a variable voltage feature? Or just a battery notifier?

Some ego batteries have two options: regulated (the standard) and unregulated.

In regulated mode, the battery tries its hardest to put out a constant voltage (3.7 or 3.2 volts or something, I don't know the exact number).

In unregulated mode, it puts out the actual voltage of the battery. So it would start at (say) 4.2 volts, drop to around 3.7 volts relatively quickly, and get lower and lower slowly until the battery drops to unusable levels.

I've seen these advertised as ego-C batteries, but I have no idea if that's a common name for them. They are activated by some button press/hold sequence, but I've never owned one of these.

Edit: just to be clear, what's described above is different from variable voltage.

  12. Not knowing what it really is it's kinda hard to say what it's doing.

A Joyetech eGo T battery only has one mode of operation.

A Joyetech eGo C upgrade battery has two modes of operation:

If the LED is blue it's in 3.3 volt constant voltage operation.

If the LED is orange it's in unregulated "whatever the battery is putting out" voltage operation.
